Festival de la Francophonie

Last Friday June 1st, 2018 we had the Fête de la Francophonie/Francophone festival at the Institute of Jamaica, Kingston. We all got an opportunity to learn about and deepen our appreciation of la Francophonie.  Having presentations from persons from the actual countries/places for example:  Futuna, Martinique, Guyane Française, Lyon etc. was delightful.

The Institute of Jamaica helped to deliver our programme thanks to their technician who was in charge of lighting and projector. The program flowed smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed the show .This venue made a big difference to the success of Friday. However without our participating schools and very supportive Jaft members it could not have been successful.

The judges had a hard time judging and even asked for some extra time to deliberate because the performances were very well done. The performers were brilliant and represented their schools well . A big Congratulations to the St. Georges College who went home with not one but three trophies! They were the stars in the categories of Poetry, Theatre and Dance. Munroe College were the stars of Song, they had a lovely choreography .  If you missed the show, you're invited to join us next year.
