Our Journée de la Francophonie was an excellent day in the company of our French Education Officer from the Ministry of Education Ms. Roxanne Lovelace, Ambassador H.E Denys Wibaux,  teachers , students and friends . The festival was held at the Institute of Jamaica , again well attended and participated . As is customary students participated and competed for first , second and third place trophies in the categories of Song , Dance , Poetry and Drama. The festival has become an anticipated event that we look forward to every year because of the spectacular production that is experienced. Schools are now seeking trophy space due to being awarded for their very french-tastic performances at this event .

The Results are as follows : 

The St. Georges’ College walked won first place in three of the five categories .

  • 1st – Place in Poetry; Cavor Grant , Grade 9, 2nd Mount Saint Joseph , 3rd Immaculate

  • 1st place in Drama; Wakeem Williams & Malcolm, Grade 9 , St George’s College

(Winners of this Category for the second year in a row) !!!

1st place in Song ; Immaculate Conception High , 2nd St George’s College, 3rd Mount Saint Joseph

  • 1st place in dance , Manchester High School , 2nd place St. George’s College, 3rd place Immaculate conception High .  

  • 1st place in Dis-moi Dix mots competition; Micheal Gray , Grade 11

Micheal Larmond , Grade 11 came second in song category  for St George’s College and A quintet of boys won 2nd place as well for Dance . They did well , what an awesome team !

Merci beaucoup Madame Wong and Mademoiselle Burke (Foreign language teachers at the St. Georges' College).

Mademoiselle Noelle-Marie Brunot; Director of the Alliance française , was behind all the I.T work for the day and she did an excellent job .

Un grand merci et Merci beaucoup pour votre présence et participation ! a l’année prochaine .

Once again the students shined in all categories , showed off  their bilingual skills and made us all proud . Next Year will be just as entertaining and impressive or even better .
